Pacific Coast of Costa Rica

Drakes Bay

Trying to stay hidrated after a 30 minute hike up hill.

Public boat ramp in Drakes Bay

The illusive Tapir. Our self proclaimed naturalist guide described them as a cross between a horse and a rhino. This one was about the size of a small cow. If you look closely there are scrars on its shoulder. They are from a puma.
Toucan.

Playa Dominical right before sunrise.

Since the last blog we have done some serious traveling. From the Nicoya Pennisula we took a panga across the Gulf of Nicoya to Jaco. From Jaco we went to Quepos, where we hung out for 4 days. From Quepos we continued our journey south to Dominical, Drakes Bay, The Osa Pennisula, Golfito, and Pavones. We had an incredible hike on the Osa Pennisula, and if you didn´t know better you would have thought you were in a zoo. The surf and weather has been good in all these places, despite a little wind and rain in the afternoon. From Golfito we flew to San Jose, picked up Lauren, and are now in Coahita on the Carribean Coast. We are continuing south and should be in Panama within a week.
