Since our last blog we have gone from the Bay Islands off Honduras and are now in Leon, Nicaragua. On the way we made one last stop in Honduras to do some whitewater rafting near La Ceiba on the Rio Cangregal. We arrired in the afternoon and had plans to raft the next morning, but the end of rainy season showed itself one last time that night. When we woke the next morning the river looked like a war zone and it was way too dangerous to raft. That night we also had a visitor in our room...and in Lindsey´s backpack. An alpha rat sniffed out a loaf of Roatan coconut bread in her backpack and ate his way in. He ate almost half the loaf and then had to eat another hole in the backpack to get out...the entry hole was only big enough for a hungry rat, not a full rat. We then crossed the border and are now in Nicaragua. We spent the weekend in a small fishing town on the Pacific Coast. We were going to surf, but the waves went flat the afternoon we got there. We did eat some incredible seafood though, and got to watch the local pigs greet the fishermen as they came in. I have some pics and video of a 300 lb hog eating fish scraps that we hope to post as soon as we find a memory card reader. We are now back in Leon and are taking Spanish lessons this week.
