Spelunking

We're in full backpacking mode - We left Caye Caulker yesterday morning for San Ignacio near the Guatemala border. We got lucky and ran into a local guy in Caye Caulker waiting for the ferry and going to just about the same place that we were, so we went with him and he showed us the ropes getting us to the right bus terminal and onto the right bus, so it worked out really well for us!

San Ignacio is a small town on a river - not much else going on but tours to the caves so we'll just be here until tomorrow.

We went spelunking today with a guide in the Barton Creek Cave. The caves were Mayan burial grounds so we saw some skulls, ghosts and other remains. We drove through an Amish community to get to the caves and had to pull over a couple of times to let the horses and buggies pass by. According to our guide, Amish girls are "buck wild"!

Matt got a Belizian haircut today - it's a good thing he isn't around anyone he knows! We had to go to the store after we left the barber shop so we could buy some scissors so I could do a little touch up! :)

We're leaving tomorrow to cross into Guatemala and stay in Flores.
